Serial #327547

circa 1948

This 1947 Steinway M was refinished, restrung, and had new hammers and dampers fitted about 25 years ago. The original ivory is in perfect condition.

The soundboard does not have any cracks, and no previous repairs.

Truthfully, what really matters is how it sounds and plays, and this piano will not disappoint.

It's beautifully regulated, plays like a dream, and is easy to control throughout the full dynamic range.

At this price it's a fantastic starter or solid upgrade piano. The price is around that of a new Yamaha 5' baby grand (GB1K), and while I love consistency of those Yamaha's, the difference price wise is like comparing a 5 year old Mazda Miata to a nicely maintained 2002 Porsche Boxter. It's simply a better machine, and because it's used, they tend to retain their value.

This piano is located in my Chico store. If you're in Chico, feel free to come in and play. If you're shopping from Redding, Sacramento, or the S.F. Bay Area, send a text or call me with any question you have. I'm happy to Facetime to get the ball rolling.

About me:

These instruments have been my profession since 1982, but my passion is the people I serve. I am a piano tuner technician, musician (operatic tenor, guitarists, bassist, and "piano player,") and still tune for most of my clients personally. I take great pride in providing value to families and businesses, whether or not you purchase from me. So if you're looking at another piano, call me anyway. I'm not going to sell you the wrong piano.

My store is Apollo Piano Piano: www.ApolloPiano.net

My S.F. Piano Tuning Service site is www.SFPianoWorks.com. Check me out there,

My assitant Dexter handles most of the texts and phone calls. Reach out to him, tell him you'd like to speak with me regarding a piano you saw on the CraigsList and we'll connect.

I truly wish you a positive shopping experience and a wonderful purchase, regardless of which piano you end up purchasing.
